melancholy and cooloh ehm gee.
that was so much fun. after it got started, of course.
joined with aditi's mother in throwing a surprise party for her at olive garden. after her parents dropped us off, they left until they came back to pay. so, needless to say, we were loud and generally in high spirits. there was lots of caffine involved, and toasting (involving both empty glasses and knives) that really didn't amount to much, and cake... and good food, but that's a given.
with the cake. the cake, as most know, is usually coupled with candles, which go hand in hand with fire (it's like a threesome resulting in sugar and fire, in a most not metaphorical way). one of the waitstaff gave us a lighter to light the candles. hahaaa, not smart on their part. though we fully appreciated it.
i started melting my icing. then claire began melting a straw, and the rest is just history. we gathered up a plethora of straws and the lighter, and went out and around the side of the foodstuff establishment. where we melted the straws and made cool little sculptures. most kids will go around the side of a building to smoke. not us, we just melt straws. that is why people call us creative.
we got lots of weird looks.
then we decided we'd caused enough hoo-haw at olive garden, so we went to bendwood. and ran around and played an astonishing variety of group games, including tag and hide and go seek. each for about five minutes. then we played the drunk game, as becca fondly called it; you spin around really really fast until you lose your balance and fall over. most kids will actually get drunk and pass out. not us, we just spin around and collapse with laughter.
we got more weird looks.
i love my friends.
kind of bittersweet
