and happy second semester to all you fellow seniors out there. party party!

but, an interesting story! quite comical in retrospect. quite the opposite not in retrospect.

so yesterday was pretty fun. dragged kevin to a party at dance for all the young'ns. nice to have somebody higher than middle school but younger than the parents there (among other things). before that, bade rebecca a final farewell as she departed for peru to visit megan for the entire break.

after all that, lauren and hollis and i went to jeff's bangin 18th birthday par-tay. pretty a lot of fun (food?! bubbles?! penis headband..?). it was exciting mostly because so many people now know where they are going

-digression from story- it's weird that everybody is finding out. lauren got into northwestern (woo!), weikei got into rice, dee got into plan ii (so did jim), etc etc. you know the scoop. anyway, i still have no idea, was the point of this tangent. i haven't even finished applying. and they say colleges sometimes read your facebooks/myspaces/blogs? to any college reading this, i bid welcome to my life. or some of it. a tiny slice of it. and might i impress upon you that it is very very hard to get yourself across on an application.

only 500 words to make you see who i am? can you really see people through that? i mean, what if they were having a horrible day. a horrible lot of days.
what if they just really wanted a taste of something new, a fresh take on life? something new to learn about? something?

anyway. /digression.

so then, after jeff's party, we came back to my house to pick up lauren's car and get some sleepy-clothes for me, for i was to spend the night with her and hollis. we tried, and failed, to get a wii this morning. woke up at friggin five. they only had 24. kniving little... yeah. so, we were to meet at brasil (spelled with an s!) and then head over to her dad's house. well, i got to brasil faster than they did, surprisingly. and waited. and... waited. lauren had tried to call, and as i answered my phone died (the root of all these problems to follow). so i waited for a while, then figured that instead of my initial reasoning that they must've been late or something, they went on to lauren's house without meeting me first. found out later that they had stood on the corner, probably as i was parking, and thought that brasil was closed. irony. so then i tried to get to her dad's house, which i kind of knew the location of. in the dark. at past midnight. turned the wrong way from shepherd onto the feeder of 59. got sort of really lost.

meanwhile! my dad calls lauren to probably get mad at me for not calling him when i got to her house. or ask what was taking so long.

"i'm sorry, but arden's not here..."

...BAM.

so while i was driving around west u looking for rice or buffalo speedway, my dad was calling the cops, driving out to westheimer to look, lauren and hollis split up to look as well, and mr davis kept an ear out for his doorbell. which chimed sometime after one. i had finally found her street, after happening upon buffalo speedway.

needless to say, they were all freaking out (which i am very very very sorry for, guys). lauren apparently thought the worst, hollis freaked out by osmosis, and my parents were... reacting they way you would expect my parents to. not well. it was scary.

but it all ended well, i suppose. i'm safe, and somewhat ashamed and really sorry that i caused all this drama.

though, like i said (and still hope...), all this should account for any problems for the entire break.
