no one sees the color of your eyes

who wants to read something cruel? this is an email sent to me by UNC today. i sent in my completed application sunday, two days ago.

Dear Arden:

Congratulations again on your admission to the University. We require all admitted students to submit midyear grades to us online. To submit your grades, please log into your UNC homepage at www.admissions.unc.edu with your confidential username and password. From your homepage, click on the link under "Important Updates Just for You". Please do not ask your guidance counselor to submit your midyears on your behalf. Instead, we require that you submit accurate and complete grades online by February 12.

We appreciate your continued interest in Carolina and wish you every success in the months ahead.

Sincerely,

Office of Undergraduate Admissions
University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill

what they meant to say, apparently, was "thanks for submitting your app, we need your first semester grades." i found this out after browsing the website it linked, which said all applying freshmen must send in their scores. and that they haven't processed my application yet.

applications might be done

but i see anxiety in the future.

no one sees your smile

i'll stop the world

the start of a new semester.
started off... less than well, i guess.
but then again
it has been pretty good.
ups and downs, i spose.

and i'm going to stick with the conclusion
that everything will be ok
and i shouldn't worry so much
my duke interviewer told me i shouldn't worry so much
not about getting in or anything
but just in general
which i guess is true

we are almost done.

and maybe i can stay sane until april/the summer.

and melt with you

come into my world

first i would like to note that school rules are sometimes ridiculous. excuse me, but in case our administration hasn't noticed, we are a very highly ranked school. and we still manage to have some vague semblence of social life. it does not impede on our being awesome! denying half our pep rallies so we have some sort of "more time to work" is semi-ridiculous, though i can see their reasoning. but we are supposed to be enjoying this time when we don't really have to look after ourselves in the sense of doing the things our parents oft do for us. oh well. to be trite, "these times, they are a'changin".

also, senioritis doesn't mix well when you have more work currently than during first semester. lab due tomorrow night, three page french essay over "bonjour, tristesse" due monday, calc hw, bio research questions, english reading, yearbook deadlines. it doesn't make sense. ah, but to be twice trite, c'est la vie.

but i saw a rainbow on my way to work today.

i think maybe things will be ok.

even though next week is going to suck.

i've got to show, show, show you
