ain't it the truth
Monday, August 27, 2007
Je vis, je meurs ; je me brûle et me noieJe vis, je meurs ; je me brûle et me noie ;
J'ai chaud extrême en endurant froidure :
La vie m'est et trop molle et trop dure.
J'ai grands ennuis entremêlés de joie.
Tout à un coup je ris et je larmoie,
Et en plaisir maint grief tourment j'endure ;
Mon bien s'en va, et à jamais il dure ;
Tout en un coup je sèche et je verdoie.
Ainsi Amour inconstamment me mène ;
Et, quand je pense avoir plus de douleur,
Sans y penser je me trouve hors de peine.
Puis, quand je crois ma joie être certaine,
Et être au haut de mon désiré heur,
Il me remet en mon premier malheur.

i stay up this latedear fellow houston drivers -
you are all insane. i hate to break it to you, but it's the harsh reality. you are just all insane. i know it's a tradition and everything, but not blinking when you want to turn can result in being rear-ended or, not quite as bad but still horrible, severe anger from the person behind you. it is just not nice, especially if you are one of the common last-minute-breakers.
also, your merging is.. problematic. from the feeder onto a freeway, the ramp is meant as an acceleration lane. very few of you actually accelerate, deciding instead to pretend the lane is intended for you to go even slower than you were on the feeder. you can't do this and then make rude hand gestures at people going the actual speed limit. not nice, houston driver. not nice.
if somebody lets you in (probably because you drive an H3 and they drive a regular car), that does not mean cut so close as to almost hit them and then slow down to 30 mph. nobody really drives that slow unless they are in a village. and guess what, village roads are usually one lane, and therefore you would not be in such a situation in a village.
if you make a left turn onto a road while you have a RED LIGHT, do not expect that the drivers who are actually obeying the law will realize you are there. if they almost hit you, it is inadvisable to yell at them, especially if you have to follow them a few blocks until you can get next to them. if all they shoot you is a glare and the finger, you are lucky. and not in one of many neighborhoods.
there is so much more, so much more, that you do wrongly, oh drivers of houston. one day, hopefully, the courteous drivers will be allowed to drive some large destructive vehicle, and then you might want to watch out.

do you believeit's... been a while, eh la. i know that this blog is at least visited, thanks to my handy-dandy weekly report thinger. i just don't know how much of that is random web activity and how much is checking for updates (which seems like it'd be kind of futile at this point).
i guess i could start writing here again, lord knows i spend enough time on the internet. stumbling, mostly. you should try that if you haven't, by the way.
i might update more in the near future. i'm going to sante fe next week, and if there's internet and aim's not working i might leave a little tidbit here or something. or try that crazy call blogger on your phone and they put it on your website.
welcome back to the blogsphere...
hope you all have been doing well.
i miss you.
